A psychologist on the Hibiscus Coast.
I'm Brendan Vorster, a registered psychologist. My rooms are on the Hibiscus Coast, a few minutes from Orewa, Silverdale, Millwater, Stanmore Bay and the rest of the Whangaparaoa peninsula, for people who would rather get help close to home than drive down the motorway for it.
Who comes here
Adults and couples. People at a turning point: a marriage under strain, a separation, a job that's ended, a business under pressure. People carrying anxiety, low mood, grief or a long stretch of poor sleep. And people who aren't in trouble at all, who want to make a decision well or work out what comes next.
How it goes
A free 15 minute conversation first. Then a first session of about 80 minutes, six sessions, and a review at the sixth so you can see whether it's working. Counselling to repair, coaching to build. More on how it goes.
Practical details
On the Hibiscus Coast, with easy parking. Weekdays, 8am to 5pm. Psychology sessions are $230 including GST for 50 minutes (see fees). English or Afrikaans, in person or online. People of faith are welcome; see Christian psychologist.
When I'm not the right fit
I don't take under 16s, crisis work, court or medico-legal assessments, or ACC sensitive claims; I'll point you to someone who does. If you're in immediate danger, call 111. For urgent support, free call or text 1737 any time.
